![]() I didn't know kitty litter was so useful in snow. I'll have to buy a bag. My pilot bearing is making god awful noises in my '84 so i'm afraid i'll have to put the POS down and not be able to drive it into ditches this winter. I guess i'll be driving my GT in the snow then just like you slightly_insain (just about every weekend). I guess my "snow tires" (BFG euro T/A) will have to do for now since 14" wheels won't fit on it. |

![]() Maybe there were special unadvertised "Snow Package" Mustangs that certain people bought - or maybe all of you that say you daily drive your Stang in the Snow are the World's Best Drivers (not a stab)...BUT, I personally have tried to drive my car in the Snow (just a few inches) with brand new Michelin all-season tires - and I was sliding, spinning, and definitely NOT stopping at all. I WOULD NOT recommend a Stang in the Snow - and would rather drive ANYTHING other than a Stang in the Snow! Just my opinion :-)

![]() lemme tell ya, you really learn how to drive like BO or LUKE Duke with a Mustang in the winter time..
: ) But its really really dangerous... just do your underbody a favour (less rust) and don't drive in the winter... |

![]() Given that I live in Montreal, where snow falls by tons I haven't had much problems friving in winter. That includes driving on pure ice. Starting from the second gear won't help you much, the best is first without any gas. I couldn't believe how well the stang handled on ice. When you get stuck, spining the tires won't help much, the heat from the tires melts the snow or ice and sinks you deeper into the snow. This is tthe first winter I will be storing my stang. AWD explorer is a charm in this weather. Can't wait for the white powder.

![]() I've found using 2nd gear to start IS better, but don't expect it to keep the rear wheels from spinning. Once you get moving a little, if the tires spin a some it won't matter too much. It's getting that first 2-3mph.

![]() WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU WANT TO DRIVE A STANG IN THE SNOW? WHY RUIN A NICE CAR? UNLESS ITS A 4CYL. ITS A SPORTS CAR! OR A COMPACT CAR WITH A V8. HOWEVER YOU LOOK AT IT, IT STILL WASNT DESIGNED TO GO IN THE SNOW. BUY YOUR SELF A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE CAR OR A 4X4! THE ONLY REASON I COULD SEE SOMEONE DRIVING IN BAD WEATHER WITH A STANG IS THAT IF ITS THEIR ONLY CAR, OR THAT CANT AFFORD ANOTHER ONE, BUT OTHER THAN THAT THEIR SHOULD BE NO REASON WHY YOU WANT TO ATTEMT TO DRIVE A CAR LIKE THAT IN THE SNOW. HELL, I HAVE PROBLEMS DRIVING IN THE RAIN WITH THESE CARS!

![]() JUST GET SOME BLIZZAKS!!! I put them on my 2WD ranger and I have no problems getting around in the snow. It is not the car that is bad in snow it is the tires. Get the tires and put a little weight in the trunk and you will have no problems.

![]() The Mustang is not a Ferrari. They are pretty inexpensive, and if it's a daily driver, then that's what it is. Mine see's winter duty, and I like driving it as much as I liked my FWD Escort. The Mustang does just fine with good tires.
