Advice about a 68 Coupe

Sorry.. i forgot to add :

I am able to inspect the car myself, as the car is only about 1 hour drive away from home..
Ive only had a chance to look at the car through a window (Car dealer was closed).
So no close up inspection yet.

So far it seems that : RUST ! is my biggest worry.

What about engine ?
Or the electrical system ?
Or Brakes ?

Im specially worried about the Engine, since its a 89 GT...
Ive heard ( dont know if its true ) that the 89 GT engine has a lowered HP output but at a bigger fuel intake ??

Got a horror story about a friend that once bought a old Chevy, and he was short on money, so everything he had went to to car..
He didnt have money for insurance or anything else.
The worst part is that he borrowed most of the cash from a bank..
The horror comes here :
One night he heard sirense from fire trucks.. he didnt give it much attention, but maybe he should, as it was his car they were putting out.
It was burned to a crisp, nothing could be use from it.
That was about 2 weeks after he bought the car.

The fire dep. found out that it was a mailfunction in the electrical system that started te fire.

So i think that would be one the things ill look really close at.
