![]() Yes, the engine will always rev normally. The problem occurs underload, the engine will pull hard up to that rpm range. Then it is like you hit a wall - it just won't pull anymore. If I back off the throttle for a second, and then get back on - it will accelerate above that rpm range. Also if I accelerate very gradually it will operate normal, but if I get on the gas hard as if I were racing is when problem occurs. Thank you for reply's

![]() The timing is set to 10 deg, I have verified that the timing marks are accurate. I have also tried advancing timing at 12 and 14 deg - still no change. I haven't taken it out yet this year, I will clean the MAF and try that hopefully this weekend.

![]() Did you get a chance to clean the MAF this weekend? Also, what kind of plugs did you put in when you put the new ones in? On the timing, I have to ask, did you pull the spout connector out when you set the timing, and remember to put it back in? I've had that happen before.. Also, try pulling any codes, see what comes up.

![]() I finally got the car out for a spin. I cleaned the mass air and took for a 20 min. run, so far so good - feels like a different car now. Doesn't look the I will get the car out for awhile now, getting another dump of snow as I write this message.
I installed NGK plugs. I did remember to pull/replace spout when setting timing. I have not checked for any stored fault codes - but I was never getting a check engine light coming on. Thank you for the reply's. |
