I actually think the GTO's run like crap for the HP rating. The new GTO's are very heavy, have an IRS rear and are no match for a properly set-up Mustang.
Unfortunately for you, you have one of the slowest Mustangs ever produced. 96-98GT vert is about slow as you get. He will beat you pretty easily.
