Default Re: Help, car losing spark and dying on me!

No codes came up ( not that relate to problem anyway )
Dude at speed shop says could be wire or connection, ofcourse, or CPU which I doubt because tuner re-flashed and tuned from a stock APL basic program, he also said the module, eventhough new could be overheating and to try misting it with a spray bottle to cool it off and see.... could be it I guess
Somthings getting hot and breaking connection SOMEWHERE!!

somthing is loosing connection ,youre right.
when the 93 warms up is when it ocurs.
i know that when it does it the tachometer is dead
then if you keep turning it over the tach starts working then the car starts, till it acts up again then the same.
talked to a friend and he said replace the distributor with new 1
i will stay in touch till 1 of us figures it out. thanks

I put in the fourth Dis Fri., went to test and tune Sun.,hot and humid suprisingly, went 8.61 best.In 8.60's-8.70's all day finally got trap speed up to 80.5-81.3 mph so most bugs are gone and dyno-tune worth the money, now will the problem persist?????????/

Exclamation Re: Help, car losing spark and dying on me!

Ok ,been awhile but had to get new clutch and business so bad I just got it in, poor me, anyway still same problem only this time it dies right away ( runs maybe 15 secs) then no spark, coil not getting signal.
I got test code 15 (read only memory test failed)?
and 18 continuous (loss of tach input/IDM circuit failure/ SPOUT circuit grounded)

KOER test didn't give any codes that deal with dist. signal, it gave code 21 cooling temp sensor out of range or ECT out of range, but it runs fine so??? (when it's running)

I suspect that code 18 is it, but wires look good anyone had this code or can tell me where to start??

Try this first...Unhook your tach underneath the hood where you have it plugged in, you do have an aftermarket tach right? Try running without it and see if problem persists. If it still does, you need to get a computer that has not been reflashed or tampered with, while ensuring it is specifically for your year and drivetrain. Let us know.

believe it or not I'm one of the last 4 of us without an AM tach, my window switch for the nitrous is tapped into the green wire on TFI harness could that be it?
The cpu is an A9L the dyno guy reflashed it and it ran great at first, i didn't think of trying another one, but that nulls my tune right?
I'm not sure if it's got a chip he custom tuned or reflashed the cpu,I honestly don't know much about dyno tuning but the baseline was like 284 and he got it to 301hp with his laptop??

thanks USMC302

PS for threes days now it won't fire at all...........HELP
