![]() did you remove the front drain plug as well. The front sump in the pan can hold quite a bit (probably about a quart) and the oil filter with the passage above it can hold over 1 quart by itself, with both of those i'd say that could account for 2 extra quarts of oil. Another thing you can check is if the dipstick tube has fallen into the oil pan or is lower than it should be. good luck,
