Hey SRV-1 you hit it right on the head, it totally sounded like it came from the dash initially, like a radio interference noise. With the hood open I traced it to the coil itself.
Where is/would the capacitor located? I remember one piggybacked on the coil power feed on my Laguna, first year for factory HEI. Other year chevys don't have that capacitor so I removed it, no noise etc. Seems to me the noise could be caused by the TFI system electonic harmonics which could be fixed by the capacitor. My HEI system possibly has higher spark energy but no coil wire and different type inductive spark control made by MSD! and the previously mentioned ACCELL super coil. Looks like the coil is going back in today. Time to start looking for a capacitor ------------------ Frank W 90 5.0 LX coupe Daily driver. K&N filter. Flexalite fan, 3 core radiator.
