This could just be a simple case of the clutch needing to be adjusted. If it's only hard to get into 1 or 2 gears, then the problem could be in the shifter linkage or the transmission itself. If all the gears are difficult to shift, then I'd bet on the clutch linkage needing a few turns on it. 10 minutes under the car might cure the problem.
