Go for the 351W heads. They won't give you as much compression as the 289 heads(54cc), but they give you a much needed increase in airflow. I've seen people make this swap a lot--it used to be the hot ticket for a 289 or 302. These heads work great on the smaller engine--definately not too large. I still don't think they will make quite as much power as a new after-market head would, but it's still way better than a 289 or 302 head.
