It sounds as if your electrical problem is a systems wide event. I would check all the major connections--battery, altenator, starter solenoid, ignition switch, and all major connectors, like the one that comes through the firewall. Good luck, these kind of problems can be really hard to pin down. Take your time, and go through each connection, eventually you will find your culprit.
