The vacuum secondarys are opened by internal carb vacuum and don't need any outside lines hooked up.The large line you refer to should hook to PVC valve.
The secondarys will only work with enough vaccum while under load,so don't worry if you don't worry if you don't see them open when reving up in the driveway.
