![]() It sounds like your linkage needs to be adjusted. Get under the car (with something behind the wheels!) and find where the shifter linkage attaches te the transmission. Loosen the nut or bolt (it's been a while) and put that lever thing in park. Get someone inside the car to put the shifter in park. Reattach the shifter linkage. The only other thing I can think of is if the shifter itself if worn. Then it would be floping all over the place. Hope this helps.
