![]() what kind of heads? if they're the press in stud type, you could be pulling a stud out of the head.... if one of the exhaust valves is getting loose, it will backfire thru the carb all the time.. if it only does it when you give it gas, it sounds like it's a tooth off in the Dist.... try re-checking the timing...
