I had an E cam in my 93 cobra with 1.7's and had no problems. But it also depends on what size valves you are running.As long as you are not using 2.02 valves you should be ok. Anderson now sells a kit to hold the lifters up so you do not have to pull the intake. Saves about 2-4 hours of labor. Hope this helps.
