If you plan on keeping the GT-40 upper have it powder coated it will look sweet. As for using clear the only clear I have foeund that works well is the Hi-Temp clear avaiable for The Eastwood Company (www.eastwoodcompany.com)a lot of people glass bead then clear it turns out nice, but you have to put it on nice and smooth and not to thick, multiple coats.
