I personally have the ssm lift bars and think they are great,I honestly don't hear the nose from them any more, but I agree the plates should be welded on these,these bars will really help your 60' times, my buddy has the lakewoods and is pretty happy with them aswell,the ride with the lakewoods is abit quiter but they handle about the same.
