205/65's
If you were to go with 205/60's your speedo would read slow for stock setup. P205/65 QR15 P= passenger 205 is the tire diameter, in this case 205mm 65 is what they call the aspect ratio. It's the percentage of the width that the sidewall height equals. In this case the sidewall is 205 x .65 = 133.25mm. Q is the speed rating, snow tires like the blizzak are Q rated for 80mph. R is for radial 15 is the wheel diameter the tire fits on. Stock the 10 holes came with P225/60VR15 tires. A total tire height would then be 225 x .60 = 135mm x 2(two sidewalls, one on each side of the rim)= 270mm. Divide by 25.4 to get the inches = 10.63"+15" rim= 25.63" P205/65's would then be 25.49" tall. P205/60 would be 24.69", off by almost an inch. It'd read wrong on the speedo by a couple mph. Since you change the width, your going to affect the total height because it'll change the total after multipling by the aspect ratio. Course you may have already known this? Later, Unit 5302 |
