![]() I'd probably go with 4:10's too. Although if it's your only street car you might want to stay with 3:73's. After all, gas is getting up there in price. A stall converter would be a big advantage. You can't go too big on the street cause you'll cook your tranny, but you could probably get away with a 10" or 10 1/2" converter. I have a 9" converter in my 65 stang and it's a bit much for the street. Converters work better with slicks. You can foot brake it or flash the converter to launch your car. Since I assume you have street tires, flashing the converter would probably just make you go up in smoke. Still, with a little practice, you could probably launch your stang at around 2600-2700 Rpm on the brakes. You'd just have to ease it out of the hole. At the track with slicks, a converter with gears would probably shave about 7 tenths off your E.T.
