65gto, where do you come up with this? my dad had a 383 coronet back in his days, that was full of machine work, and serious mods (around 500hp), and never lost to anyone, including 69 427 vettes, 69 bb olds, but he did say he had a boss 302 (almost) beat him from a rolling speed on the highway, he was taching out, bigblocks have lots of off line torque, and notice these cars have to hook up to run good numbers? but take for instance....an ls1, yea lighter, but not that much, and can take a stock 427 vette, or hang very close, but get way better gas mileage, along with better reliability, big bore motors made killer torque though, no doubt.
