Cold Weather Fells like 80shot!
We finally got some cold weather last night. It was in the high 40's.
I couldn't believe what a difference it made in my cars power. It felt like a different car! On a 90degree day with the 80shot of N20 it feels just about the same as all motor on a high 40's night. I wish I could get to the track in some weather like that! Hey Skyler, Do you have any stalling problems with your e303 cam? My 2040 is the same and it stalls at lights once in a while. I also think I have a vacum leak on the side of my TB. At least I think it is coming from there. Do you ever hear a hissing noise from that area? If so can You help? Buy the way, a zo6 with a 150 shot smoked me today bad....Of course I had my street tires on and spun the whole time. See Ya thanks

bri32Z, I have a couple of questions, first where did you get the Edelbock 150 shot kit at, I keep getting told that it is not available yet And do you have a auxilary fuel pump in addition to the 190? Also I don't assume you have the stock block or internals but just wondered. I am getting ready to put N2O on my car and just want to make sure I am not going overboard. Thanks.

My n2o is an edelbrock bottle and lines. The rest is from a friend that had a 150 shot so the rest I think is NOS brand---not too sure, I have no mechanical skills what so ever. My block is far from stock.. Read my mod page. No I do not think my mechanic put on another fuel pump. I could be wrong though. Edelbrock does offer the efi kit now. An 80 shot is around 500 dollars or so. The 150 is a lot higher around 800. Sorry for sounding dumb but I am slowly learning about engines. I pay top dollar for all my stuff and mechanics...wish I knew how to install this stuff myself. Would of saved my around 4 grand. Brothers performance sells the kit.

Bri- Yes I definatly had lots of problems with this when I first got my motor together. I took it to several mechanics that couldnt figure it out, so I just went about it myself. Over time I finally got it to run pretty damn good.
Here was what I did. First, bump your fuel pressure about 5-8psi, and I set my timing at 18. These helped. Then set your Idle to about 1100rpm. This isn't bad at all, and much better than stalling. After youve set the idle, get your TPS voltage set. If you dont know how, just ask on here, its not too hard. Make sure its set at .98V. Remember setting your idle will change your TPS voltage, so always do these together. Once you've got all that setup and its idling decently. Disconnect the computer for 30min so you can reset the computer. Hook it up and let it idle for 5 min with no accessories on. After that take it out for a drive, and drive normal, then get on it some. over a day or two it should run pretty good. If not, you may need a custom chip burned. But I got a JMS chip and it didnt so **** for me. I Just noticed you have a superchip also. Is that a stock out of the box chip? If so, its hardly tuned for the 347 setup you have. You may benefit greatly from a custom chip, and you may even gain just pulling that crappy superchip out.

You NEED a custom burnt chip. My car hardly ran at all untill I got mine. You have to find a good tuner though.

Thanks for all of the advise Skyler. Will get to work on it this weekend or if I have time after work. I do think the chip has a lot to do with it. I sat outside for 2 hrs trying to find the vacumn leak with no answer. A custom chip will probally be the next step---all this money and idle problems---SUCKS.....Well once again thanks, I am so new to this mechanic stuff it blows my mind.

Bri32z- Try what I said, or suggest it to your mechanic. At the time I did my motor I had plenty of money, but it didnt matter. The people working on it still didnt know what they were doing. Now I'm broke and Ive had to do it myself.

I sprayed and with my street tires just spun so I gave up. Rode in his car before and it is real fast. It would be a close one on slicks. I never forget there is always someone out there faster. Take care.

The night I blew my motor, it was 37 degrees out. The car was running perfect! I went home and put my bottle in a tub of hot water this always makes it better. The bottle warmer kept it nice and hot, and with the cold the car ran, and pulled harder then it ever had. It was such a blast, at least I got to enjoy one night before the motor went.
