Post 351 block strength in stroked s/c appl.

Is there anyone that can comment on if a production 351 block with a main support is stong enough and reliable in a 14lb of boost 383 stroker application?

I do have a line on a A351 block but they want a premium for it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated since I need to start build up next week.

A 351 block should be plenty strong for that with a main girdle. And hell, if you can get an A351 block, do it. Yeah, it might be expensive, but it'll hold up better than a production block in any case.

It will hold up if you keep the rpms down, But, why would you want to build a motor with that kind of power with a weak foundation. A least get a sportsman block. Even with the sportsman block the rpms should stay under 6500 girdle or not.

I think you get 2.75 main journals with the A block(I might be wrong)..that will really help reduce your bearing speed. I'd say it's better to spend the money up front. By the time you spend the money on the main support and machine work you'll be pretty close anyway.
