Strut/ shock Install

The front struts are a b#$%^. You have to try to figure out some way of holding the top of the dang strut shaft while tightening the nut. The best way I've heard is an impact wrench. I tried an open end wrench, broke it. I tried vice grip pliers, tore the crap out of the top of the strut where you hold on to it. Now I can't even grab the top of the strut with anything. Sux! The rear isn't near as bad. You can buy a tool to hold on to the top of the shock at O'reilly's for about $11. On my struts I used white out to mark where the strut was alined on the spindle so I could put it back in the exact spot. I then went and got an alignment (recommended). I can't find a tool for the stinkin' struts anywhere. If anyone finds one, please let me know! Impact the front. Also, use the nuts and shi$ that come with the shocks and struts. I made the mistake of thinking one could use the factory nuts and stuff, just switch 'em out. WRONG! What the hell was I thinkin'?! Good luck.
