![]() The octane rating is only a measure of the gasolines' resistance to knocking (read detonation). Most regular pump gas will suit all but supercharged or high compression motors. 100+ octane is not necessary or beneficial for mostly stock motors running the stock timing. If you were to increase the compression ratio, supercharge, or advance the timing on your stang, only then would it be necessary to consider using a higher octane gasoline.
