![]() Good choice with the Nitto's. YOU HAVE TO BURN THE HECK OUT OF THE THOUGH! Really, you need a good 6-8 second burnout. I do mine in 2nd gear (w/ 3.73's). I bring the revs up to about 3500-4000 depending on outside temps, and pretty much dump the clutch. Slipping it results in 1.98-1.99 60's, dumping it gives constant 1.91-1.92. this is in a 3700+lb convertible with 100% stock suspension. The car will squat, the motor will slightly bog, then the suspension unsprings, the tires give a slight chirp, then I'm grabbing 2nd! These tire hook extremely well, but like I said, you need to burn the crap out of them. I got my set last August, and went to the track every week until it closed in Oct, I made roughly 4 passes a week. I have over 10K miles on them now, and they still have plenty of tread left. Like it was said above, when the roads are damp, they hook better than any tire I ever had, but if there is any depth to the water, you might as well forget it- but this is to be when running such a tire with so few tread cuts.
P.S.- I personally found running 17-18lbs of air in them works best for me, but I know of a lot of people that run them at lower pressures. ------------------ 95 GT convt' 5 speed, 3.73's,FMS HD clutch, Pro 5.0 shifter, ASP alum. underdrive pulleys, Bassani offroad X pipe, 2 chmbr flowmasters, K&N w/o silencer, edelbrock performer intake, FRPP 65mm T-body, FRPP shorty headers, FRPP aluminum driveshaft.Hooker 4pt chrome car bar, Xenon/Wings West ground effects, custom interior Best ET: 13.83 Best MPH: 98.55mph with Best 60': 1.91 on Nitto DR's Homepage: <A HREF="http://www.angelfire.com/pa2/killercanary" TARGET=_blank>http://www.angelfire |
