Its not a job for the faint of heart. If its a daily driver, and you're prepared to live with gear noise, then you'd be better off having a professional install them since you probably won't be able to rent the proper tools. I've got a friend who loans me the installation tools, but all told they'd probably cost about $1000 to buy outright. My best advice is to let a pro do it. I've installed four different sets in my car over the years, but I refuse to install them in anybody else's car simply because the margin for error is so small.
