It is possible that the left/right selector switch is bad or that you have a loose wire on the back of the switch. I would suggest pulling the switch out and do the following checks:

1. Make sure you have 12V on the common of the left/right selector switch. If you do not your problem is somewhere between the fuse block and the switch.
2. If you do have power on the switch the problem is either the switch, wiring, or motors. But it is unlikely that BOTH of your motors kicked off at the same time.
