![]() I personaly really liked the Kirban shifter I had. They aren't in every single ad in MM&FF like a lot of other brands, but it is a great product. I choose it after I had driven several different shifters.
The Pro 5.0 is very solid, and great if you are going to run at the track all the time, but IMO, it is too "notchy" feeling for daily driving. After driving the B&M Ripper, I thought it was something I could get used to, but the throw was still pretty long due to the long handle. The Kirban was a perfect comprimise between the both. It had a very short and positive throw like the Pro 5.0, but it was smoother like the B&M. It really is a great shifter for someone who wants something a little more solid then the B&M, but not as "notchy" as the Pro. And it was priced in the middle too, $179, but that came w/ a polished billet alum. handle also. I have never driven the Tri-axe, but I have heard that its a rather good shifter also. ------------------ 1997 Thunderbird 4.6L: Dynomax cat-back, MN-12 perf. offroad downtubes and Y-pipe w/ Magnaflow resonator, 80mm MAF with cone filter, B&M trans cooler, Inject-Tech chip, MAC U/D pulleys, KVR front brake upgrade. 15.2 @ 91 before exhaust & pulleys. Not bad for a 3800lb auto 4.6L No Longer own: 91 LX 5.0L 5 spd |
