Yes, I've already been told one of the biggest things you can do to help the Lightning is install a air box / cold induction upgrade. Also, the stock computer calibration pulls A LOT of timing out of the engine when the trans shifts, and it also changes the torque multiplier on the converter. So, doing a custom chip calibration that removes those factors and leans it out just a bit (the stock calibration runs the engine at a 9.5:1 air/fuel ratio!) will pick the truck up like a half second alone! Between the induction upgrade, calibration changes, and an exhaust system you can drop the Lightnings ET down to 13.1 or even a high 12! I'm VERY impressed with this truck so far.
Also, Greg and I also raced around a 1998 Mustang GT off a stop light on the way to Stanton and spanked him! ![]() ------------------ Dan McClain, Editor The Mustang Works Magazine 1991 Mustang GT - NOVI Supercharged 377 Stroker 1999 Ford Lightning SVT - Supercharged 5.4L Triton [This message has been edited by Dan McClain (edited 06-12-2000).] |
