![]() That hp is easily obtainable from the stock block and rotating assembly. It should handle 550-575 with a good tune and keeping the rpm below 6100-6300. They're a lot stronger than people give them credit for. NMRA Pure Street cars are making 400-450 flywheel hp N/A and turning them 6500+ rpm. My blower car ran 10.60's at 3400-lbs with an AOD and cranked out 485-hp at the rear wheels on a Dynojet all with a stock block/pistons/rods/etc. I can give numerous other real world examples. The trick on high hp blown 302's (500+) is to avoid detonation like the plague. Run the mixtures on the rich side an conservative on the timing.
Anybody that says it can't be done may not be all that familiar with late model Mustangs. |
