Wink

Whether I am developing sites for my own business purposes, or professionally at work, I use common tools of the trade in the Internet Development world. For creative work, I use Photoshop 5.5 with Image Ready, Fireworks, Paintshop Pro, Illustrator, and Freehand. However, even though I do the graphic / creative work for my own sites, at work I generally do not do the creative work, but rather, work hand in hand with a professional creative designer / graphic artist who designs the graphical look and feel of a site I am going to develop. For coding I use Homsite 4.x or Cold Fusion Studio (which is basically Homesite with all the extra Cold Fusion goodies added on). Once in a while I will use a WYSIWYG tool, which is Dreamweaver 3.0, but rarely since most everything I develop I hand code. For backend languages, I use mainly Perl5 or Cold Fusion (CFML). Although, I know over a dozen languages including CFML, Perl, ASP, ActiveX (VB), C++, etc... And, of course, SQL.

No offense, but if you are asking these basic questions concerning advanced Web site design, you do not have the skills to do it. It would also not be possible for me to teach you all you would need to know in a forum post. Therefore, I would get Dreamweaver 3, and try to learn its basic features if you want to do a personal web site. Not that you can't learn HTML, but most likely you will find a WYSIWYG design tool easier than learning an entire tag language such as HTML. As far as the graphics go, good luck... That's a whole nother ball of wax.
