Hey Marty, my Cobra has 84,000 miles and uses about a half a quart between oil changes. I have checked with other owners and this is normal. There is no smoke and no leaks.

The GT has 2 cams, the Cobra has 4 cams. GT is SOHC single overhead cam, meaning 1 cam per head or 2 total. The Cobra is DOHC or 2 cams per head, 4 total.
The 4.6L doesn't use extra oil, the guy is an clueless. |

I have never heard anything like that either. Now, on the other hand, I have heard of certain $30K+ GM muscle cars that burn oil with almost no miles on the clock... (I have friends with new SS's and WS6's that are complaining of using a lot of oil with less than 25K miles...)
Also, why would the extra cam cause you to burn oil when it gets some miles on it? A GT still has the same number of valves per cylinder that a 5.0 has. [This message has been edited by blue00gt (edited 09-04-2001).] |
