Are there any aftermarket consoles out there with more storage space? I'm not used to having so little storage space in the car. My 88 Celica (winter car) had a big glovebox and center console to store stuff.

I think that the arm rest/storage bin might have been eliminated by 93. (I've got it in my 87.) That might be an option if you don't have one.
