![]() Combination of nitrous and no knowledge about it will undoubtedly end up in a dead mustang.
A friend of mine whoisn't very mechanically inclined was talked into buying a wet nitous kit from a co-worker a couple of weeks ago. All he knows about it is that it is a Nitrous Works kit and supposedly is about $700 worth of stuff. The way he described it to me was "it has all kinds of stuff in it" and is adjustable from 75-200hp. He doesnt know if it is a wet or dry kit, although he said he THOUGHT it had the plate with the spraybar that goes between the upper and lower intake. Its an 89GT with 145,000miles and a slipping AOD, . Completely stock except for h-pipe and mufflers, all original gaskets (including heads)and bearings. Fuel system is all stock too, down to the 88lph pump and regulator. Supposedly it has an adjustable regulator in the kit though. He said that its a really safe kit because it has the throttle activation switch, a toggle switch and also he said that it has something that monitors the fuel pressure and if its not high enough then it wont send any nitrous. I've never heard of this before, but i'm no nitrous guru by any means at all. He's having someone at his work install the kit and some 3.73's at the same time next week for $100. He said that he mostly wants to do this for looks and so he can purge the nitrous at a stoplight, I immediately backhanded him and told him to sell the stang and buy a honda if he's going for the "looks fast" thing. he's even got a "Got Boost?" sticker on his back window. I guess he didnt realize that nitrous isn't boost ![]() I think me being off at college and only seing him every now and then has led to him hanging out with his full idiot friends (im only half an idiot). so which do you guys think will blow up first? 1.the slipping AOD 2. the 145k pistons 3. the 145k head gaskets 4. the stock intake 5. other
