Question Another nitrous ?

A guy I work with has a new sportsman fogger system that he is thinking about selling for cheap. I want to put it on my 79, but my car is EFI. Every fogger system I see is on a carb motor. I was thinking of installing it on the bottom of my upper intake. Would this work?
Thanks,
Wade

Hey Wade,

I would pick up the fogger setup if the price is right. I have seen a few fogger setups with EFI, what exactly you need to do to get the system up and running you could find out from NOS (I'm assuming that's who made the kit). I'm thinking that your jetting would be different with EFI because of the difference in PSI. Other than that, I can't see where it would make any difference.

All of the EFI fogger setups I've seen with a Victor 5.0 manifold have the foggers mounted on the upper as you mentioned. Two different setups on the same car (in the NMRA Race Pages) had the annular discharge nozzles in the removable plate, and then in the top of the upper just before it straightens out to attach to the lower (the closer to the combustion chamber the better). I would talk with the system manufacturer to get all the details...

Have fun!
(and thanks again for the fuel system info!!)

i have listed fogger jetting for both carb and efi systems.

each nitrous/fuel jet goes into each fogger.

FOR FUEL INJECTION ENGINES....

N2O / Fuel / Horsepower Gained.

34/18 40HP
37/22 50HP
39/24 60HP
41/26 70HP
43/28 80HP
46/30 100HP
52/33 125HP
61/38 150HP

For a carb setup running 5psi of fuel pressure, the basic jetting is as follows:

N2O / Fuel / Horsepower Gained.

38/46 50HP <Very Rich Jetting
46/53 75HP <Very Rich Jetting
57/65 100HP <Very Rich Jetting
47/53 100HP <NOS Jetting.
55/61 125HP <NOS Jetting.
73/82 150HP <NOS Jetting.
82/91 175HP <NOS Jetting.
