Default turn signal question

I recently picked up an 88 stang. I noticed that with my turn signals the back up lights blink instead of my corner lights. Is this normal?
Thanks

No, it's not normal. Is it possible that someone accidentally put the bulbs into the wrong part of the lenses? With them blinking, try to see if they will fit into the blinker's hole of the taillight housing (are the wires long enough)? If that's not it, then I'm lost as well! Also, when you put your backup lights on, are different ones lit up? If so, then they should go right back into their correct slots. Good luck!

Yes, the reverse lights work like they should and yes it looks like the wires are to short to switch around. This car was stolen a couple of years ago and they had ripped out the stereo, speakers, etc. The power locks also don't work. Do you think this might be related?

I'm sorry, I can't help you then. I also don't know if those other problems are related. Good luck in trying to solve this problem.

hmmm... that's weird... hopefully they didn't do some major wire damage, and whoever fixed it, didn't hook it up right. I've never heard of anything like this.

Another problem I forgot to mention is that the left side turn signal doesn't flash. It stays solid. All of the bulbs do work.

Sometimes, a bulb has two functions. Usually if this happens to me, a changing of the bulb fixes it, as the pieces inside can go bad, leading to the condition you describe I've had bulbs that are used as turn signals, brakes, and parking lamps go bad. Sometimes, two out of the three functions will work, or one, or none! Changing the bulb is cheap, and easy. You may want to look in that direction.
