Hey guys.
Well we made it!. The drive from Arizona to California went great. I am really impressed with my old beast, because admitedley she really needs an engine overhaul!. But she made it no troubles. Smoked a little (from shock i think! lol!) when we got up to speed on the highway, but that soon stopped and we cruised the rest of the way. Since we have been here though, she has stalled twice on me.(Something thats only happened once in the last two years, and that time was the day i drove her home. She'd been sittin' outside this guys house in the rain, so i forgave that as a cold/not driven since i'd test driven her 2 weeks before engine.) Here, both times have been while i was waiting at a stop sign on a hill. She starts right up again no troubles though. I'm guessing it's a combination stuffed engine/and low charged battery maybe, because i havent been able to drive her too much here yet. Thought i'd post and see what you guys have to say about it though as i am by no means an expert! thanks!Nicolette

I would suggest a thorough tune up. It probably just needs the carburetor adjusted, but a tune up certainly wouldn't hurt!
Good luck, and welcome to So Cal! Take care, -Chris

I really hate calling it that, but welcome. I am heading down to Carlsbad to the 1/4 mile there. Its basically open track am told from 1-6pm Saturdays. Don't think I'm going to run, just hang out and watch. It's in San Marcos technically, 5s - Palomar Airport road east, L on Buisness Park, then one more turn, forget where.
If you're interested, I'll find the directions in the morning before I go.
