![]() We have an 88GT and the gas guage is always pegged past full. My son and I put in a 190 fuel pump. While the tank was out and wires disconnected from fuel pump and sending unit. Turned the ignition key on to see if the position of gas guage changed when sending unit was disconnected. It did not change so I concluded the sending unit was ok.
Has anyone had any similar experiences with their fuel gauge? Any suggestions on trouble shooting? |

![]() I'd say get out the voltmeter and start tracing. The sending unit is bad in mine and when I've got 5 gallons or less it reads empty and then when I'm just about to run out it says I've got 1/8 of a tank! I now carry a jerry can with a little gas just in case
