![]() Tremecs use GM Synchromesh. You just need to use ATF (Mercon-Dextron II / III ) or any high performance synthetic equivalent (Royal Purple, Red Line)

![]() Yes, you can use GM Synchromesh tranny fluid in a T-5 but any synthetic ATF fluid will do the job quite well.

![]() My car has 130,000 miles on it and sometimes is real hard to get into first gear. Shifting isn't isn't the smoothest around either and I know the fluid has never been changed. My friend has an 87 Fiero and had a very similar issue with his transmission but fixed it when he added the Sinchromesh. I've heard a lot of good things about Red Line's products, you guys think I'd be better off with the Red Line rather than the Sinchromesh?

![]() I've known a few people who used the GM Synchromesh fluid in a T-5 without any negative results so I don't believe it would harm an already worn T-5 but as I stated in my first post, any synthetic Mercon fluid would be better.
Red Line is very high quality; you can't go wrong with any of their products. |

![]() You can't go wrong with Mobil 1 sythetic ATF in your T-5! I use Mobil 1 prodcuts everywhere and like the fact that they are all available at local shops.
