Default melted hose

I have a 90 gt with MAC equal length shorty headers and the pipe that comes off my H pipe and up threw the engine pay to the smog pump keeps melint against the headers is there a simple fix for this such as steel braided cover or can I bypass that valve located just below the intake tube?

yeah, if you don't have smog tests there regulaly, I would bypass the pump, plug the hoses and pull the smog tube and pump out completely, and plug the h-pipe. I did.

I had the same problem. I went to the local auto parts store and brought the hose. Explained the situation and asked if they had a hose of comperable dimensions with a greater bend radius, less of a drop, and put it on. I also, just to be safe, put a zip tie under it and sinched it up off to get it a little further away from the header. That was about a year and a half ago and I have had no other problem with it.

This is fine if you have removed your cats. If you haven't, DO NOT DO THIS. You will clog your cats, and frustrate your driving habits.
