This just made my day. My car was down for a month and I got to drive it for three days before the T5 went out the first time. It was down for two more weeks waiting for parts and I got to drive it for a day and a half and now this!

I just got my rebuilt T5 put in yesterday and drove the car home from my brothers and it was fine (70 miles). Then today I drove it to Indy (190 mile round trip) to help a buddy work on his Stang and on the way back 5th gear took a dump on me about 20 miles from home. I managed to limp it back but it wasn't fun driving in 4th gear with the 3.73's. It started when I slowed down for some railroad tracks and dropped down to 3rd gear. Once I got back to 5th I noticed a very faint grind like it was doing before the rebuild. It was just a couple seconds after I noticed it that it started grinding REALLY bad. What could have happened? 99% of the driving I have done since I got it back in has been in 5th gear. It's too dark out now to look for leaking fluid. I hope it didn't leak out, but either way I would think it would still be covered under the warranty. ------------------ Too much to list. Kevin sorry to hear about your tranny problems, it should be covered under warranty I would think or hope. If 5th gear goes out the only thing I can think of is the syncro for 5th gear or maybe a blocker ring, hanging up. I have about 100 miles on mine now and every thing is great nice and tight, feels better then ever. 4th gear with the 3:73's isn't all that bad

It goes into 5th gear just fine, but when you let out on the clutch it sounds like all hell breaks loose inside the tranny.

Plus it's still a pain sometimes getting it into reverse. We noticed the syncro was a little chewed up on reverse. I wonder if they noticed it. It's like they never messed with anything else in there but the input shaft and cluster gear. We were supposed to get a rebuilt tranny and give them mine as a core. But, they didn't have any cores so we had to give them my tranny and let them rebuild it. ------------------ Too much to list. No worries man. Like I was saying it's a simple job pulling it back out. What sucks is now I can't get it to my brother's to work on it. I'm not driving it 60 miles in 4th gear. I may have to rent a U-Haul and see if I can use my friends truck.

Thanks for the offer Tim, but I'll get it to my brother's somehow. I think I'm just going to try to pull it here and haul the tranny to him in my wife's Neon. That is, if it ever quits raining.

Well, I just took my brother for a drive to show him what it was doing and ripped the tranny to pieces I am guessing. It won't come out of gear now and won't go forward or backward even with the clutch in =P
