Question Clutch noise

I recently purchased an 89 gt. The engine runs smooth but I noticed that while driving, if I just touch the clutch pedal a little I hear a kind of high pitch whirring noise. It doesn't make the noise when the pedal is pushed all the way down. It's not really loud but I was wondering if anyone might have a thought as to what it is. The previous owner said he put a new clutch in and everything seems to work okay but I am not very familiar with sticks. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Oh my! My cousin "green94droptop" has the same problem and he just got his '95 GT. I seem to think it's the release bearing, but it could be a number of things all telling you that a new clutch assembly needed is right around the corner. For instance it could be:
pilot bushing damaged
clutch rivets are loose
clutch plate is cracked
clutch cable needs adjusting
pressure plate fingers are going

On a stock T-5 the bearing retainer is aluminum. The throw out bearing will wear scares in the retainer and cause the throw out bearing to bind. I bought my new steel bearing retainer from Hanlon transmition. This is a must upgrade when the trany is out.
