Default gapping plugs to 60 worth it on a 98 gt with timing at 14 degrees?

just tryin to get a lil extra free power out of my car before takin it to the track this weekend.....currently i have my timing at 14 degrees...would gapping the plugs at 60 with the stock ignition help any or would it kill power....and ive been running 93 octane would it be safe to drop down to 89 for a lil extra power?thanks for any help or tips for some free power

You run the chance of having a missfire with the plugs gapped at .060, maybe not. If the car does not ping on 89 octane fuel use it, if not go back to the 92-93. Do not use more octane than what the engine needs, it will hurt power if you have to much octane.
