![]() should this motor which has about 6000 miles on it burn any oil? I just checked it after the oil light came on and it needed 1/2 quart. is this normal or is this car a lemon???
it is the 90 lx! PS. i as just next to a bmw m5 on the highway 2002 or 2003. passes me like he is fast or something. takes off after getting in front of me, then i get up next to him and put it in 3rd gear moving up and down on the throttle to entice that jacka**. We finally get on it at the same time and my car actually was a baby hair ahead from 3rd to 4th before we slowed down. how much HP do those BMW's have and could i kick his *** from the start??? thought i would share that little story (maybe this car isnt a lemon after all!) I hope!

![]() I'm going to guess that it hasn't been 6000 miles since you last changed oil but yes, half a quart between oil changes isn't out of the ordinary for any engine.

![]() And to answer your question about the M5...no, you probably wouldn't beat him from a stand still. In fact I'm surprised you were ahead of him at all. A 2003 M5 has 394hp and does 0-60 in right around 5 seconds...

![]() i hope it hasnt been 6000 miles either!!! I bought it about 600 miles ago. Im glad to hear that this is NORMAL. I didnt think that it should burn any oil at all!! anyways my wife said that we were side by side during the race, but i could see that tiny bit of hair that i was ahead of him(at least in my eyes).
anyways, I am making part swaps (headlights) between my 89 and 90 now before i sell the 89. I have NOS (5115) kit in my 89 and am going to take it out. Should i have it installed on the 90 with the new motor in it? IF SO, what other parts should I buy for it, or will everything hook right up nicely again. Is the 155 fuel pump enough for the juice?? AND, should i be concerned with using juice on the new motor? I am a little scared to have it hooked up to a new motor! Thanks M5 EATER!! haha

![]() here is what the owner said when i emailed him the other day.
I noticed that it would use a little oil when I would drive the car hard alot like having the rpms up high and ripping down the high way. I think what happens is the motor creates so much vacuum when running at high rpms it sucks the oil out of the valve cover where the oil filler is into the throttle body. so I think thats what the problem could be because just around town it wouldnt use any oil for me. Does this make sense, or did this guy set up the motor wrong?

![]() do i need to worry then, or maybe he mispoke about the reason for the oil loss. worry? or no worry??
PS I am Mr. Dumazz when it comes to cars, where exactly is the PCV valve on my motor? thanks
