![]() Well I got a new shifter tha I am gnna try to put on. It dosent say that it supports the FMX Tranny, but it is a simple Cable shifter, I should be able to make a bracket to hold the cable in the right place. If I get it in tomorrow Ill post more as to how I did it. Wish me luck...

![]() Good luck. Let me know how it turns out, and if you can, include a pic of the bracket.

![]() Wll its gonna take a bit more time than I got right now to get this toy in . I have to flip the linkage mount on my tranny so that it is pointing down NOT up like it does stock. I had the shifter in and hooked up i looked great, and sat in the perfect position for my hand, but alas when I tried to put it into gear I discovered that my stock shifter PUSHES the linkage whereas the B&M PULLS. oops. May be in a couple weeks Ill have more time to mess around with it... The thing that is holding me up now is how to pull the linkage off the tranny. Not the bar that connects to the shifter, but the arm that clamps onto the rod comming out of the tranny. there are no C-clips, or anything like that. any Ideas?

![]() Hey Mike ... I know it's been a few years since this post but I was wondering if you ever got this B&M shifter to work in your car? I have a 70 Stang w/FMX that I would like to do the same thing to. I've surfed the web and found a few folks that have done this. One guy I spoke with had made all new linkage, it was a nice set up but more than I wanted to get into. Another guy I spoke with said he had the FMX and it hooked right up, no troubles. From what I've been reading I think that guy might had had another tranny. Any help is greatly appreciatted!
Thanks, Scott |
