Electric fuel pump mounting
I just picked up a Holley red electric fuel pump for my 67... wondering where I should mount it. I know you're supposed to mount it near the tank and below the fuel level. Where, specifically, should it be mounted? I was thinking of drilling into the frame, right in front of the rear hoop (in front of the rear end) where it comes back to a straight line. If anyone else has installed an electric pump, where exactly did you install it?
Thanks

I mounted mine in front of the gas tank (between tank & rearend). It is just a few inches from the fuel line running out of the fuel tank. Remember, elect fuel pumps push fuel, not pull.

I have more pictures but their not on the internet. Don't know how to put them on this reply without having a web address.
I just installed a set of 3A racing seats. Sets a little high but hopefully my helmet is the NHRA required 3" below the rollcage. |

Does a rollcage really make that much of a difference as far as stiffening up the chassis?

It appears to. When I lift up the front drivers side of the car, the passangers side goes up almost even. I can have both front tires off the ground just jacking up one side. It kinda looked funny the first time I saw it. Along with the rollcage I have subframe connectors.

I mounted my pump on the trunk "well". You can mount it on the left or right side, depends on the fuel line location. Yes a cage will stiffen up the chassis. If you tie a couple of the downlegs to the frame rails, it will really help.

I run a Centerline 15 x 8 on the back with a 10.5 inch slick and a Centerline 15 x 3.5 with a MT 3.5 inch skinny up front. Car was mini-tubbed.
