Default Wheel change from 15in to 16 or 17in

My 90 has 225-60/15 tires/wheels. I'd like to go to a 16or 17 inch. they list as being either 7 or 8 inch. Which do I choose? much of a difference in 16 vs. 17 in? Does anyone know, are the Bullit wheels aluminum? Tire size recommendation for these? thanks!
