Question 4.6 L compatability

This may seem a bit off topic, so please don't kill me ok? I 've got a '92 Mercury Grand Marquis with the 4.6 liter V8. I was wondering if this is the same as the modular motor used in the Mustang. I guessed you guys would know as much as anybody about this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
