LX,
Your going in the right direction. You will need a hardened gear for the distributor to work with the roller cam. Should be able to use the timing cover and fuel assembly, I would recommend a new fuel pump (Edelbrock). Milling the heads is a good I idea, I would try to bring the compression up to at least 10:1. The performer intake with a 600 carb should work well with the B303, would probably also use a single bore 1/2" spacer to help with some top end power. The 38" tires are going to look good but are going to kill low end torque. You'll have to whine that B303 up to get a good launch, even then it might bog.

Hey LX,

Why don't you finish your car first. Dec 28 has come and gone and your car is still sitting where it was..... LOL

I would use the E-303 it makes more low end torque than the B cam IMHO.

LX,
The firing order out of the '80 is probably 1-5..., and the B303/E303 is 1-3... Always use the firing order that comes with the cam, Ford might have changed firing orders but they did not change cranks. What transmission does the truck have in it? A tranny with a lower ratio first would do good. You'll be loosing some torque from the pinion angle. If the E303 provides more low end torque I would go with Skyman's recommendation, but I would in that case step up to the Performer RPM intake. Witch ever way you go I think you'll enjoy the Truck, defiantly be noticeable!

I would think those cams would be too much for what he wants to do because they are more for a high revving engine. I think you will be better suited to try to sell those cams to try to get enough money to get you a cam more for low-end torque. I would call comp cams and tell them what you are going to do with it and see what they recommend.

Just my .02

five-o..i would love to get a new one but this project is on a budget..i will be running at least 4.56 gearing and the bronco does have a 4low..
would i be better of using a stock HO cam or should i run the e-303 a few degrees advanced??
