How many races do u get..????
in a day, week, month.
Not planned of course!!! Tracks don't count! I get about 2 a month. (worthy competitors) Stoplight to stoplight or on the highway. I've read about a lot of highway wins/losses, stoplight wins/losses.... Just wondering... ------------------ 1997 Black Cobra Convertible. #2788 of 3088 Mostly Stock 1988 5.0 LX Convertible -Work Car...Few Mods. |

I'm in a serious dry spell. Its been a long time. I don't understand why either. There are lots of f-bodies around which constitute worthy competitors. I just haven't met up with any in a convenient spot.

Around here in the Detroit area, if you have ANY sports car you will get a race. It doesn't matter if you are in a mustang lined up against a Dodge ram pickup.
I know it is the motor city, but come on there must be something in the water around here. I get quite a few races with legit competition though Maybe it is because we get cabin fever from winter and during the summer we let loose. Last year I me up with an LT1 vette and thought I was going to smoke him. So we take off and we were pulling door to door from a second gear roll. Then I pounded third and we were still even, then out of no where I heard this loud *** whistling noise start to walk me. I met up with him at the Woodward Dream Cruise where he proceded to walk me again, and found out he has an 8 lb Pro-Charger. He said he ran 12.2 on street radials (not drag radials). ------------------ 88GT stock shortblock, ported GT-40 iron heads, ported Edlebrock Performer intake, 24# inj, Pro-M 75mm Bullet MAM, 3.73, hurst short throw, F-303, electric fan, alum rad, FMS HD clutch, R134a ac conversion, 70mm TB , and some other stuff I probably forgot, best run so far on ET streets is 13.02@106 with a 1.87 60ft (Full body weight GT, full tank of gas, and sway bars connected, gonna disconnect sway bars and dip into the twelves). |

I honestly got up to 15 a month when I was living in FL. Sometimes more. (not even half were worth it, mostly seeing what I had I think) Moved here to Baltimore last month and have had 1. Don't know what the deal is. I think the weather for one, and I guess I did a lot more cruising in FL. But then again, on my home from work I'd even get them.

It comes in blocks, I will get 2 or 3 races in 2 days then I won't get a race for 2 months. I'd say on average about 2 races a month.

the 19lb injectors should keep up with my fuel requirements for now.
since I run a wet nitrous system, not all of the fuel passes through the injectors. they are one of my next mods, for sure... I am also broker'n'$hit right now, so I just want my car running again. I ran it at the track too many times without much in the way of oil pressure. hehehe! still ran 11s! I am having the worst luck getting any of the correct parts. they kept trying to sell me a hypereutectic piston (and actually did) when I asked SPECIFICALLY for forged! Parts guys are the worst morons! I got a set of cast iron rings, but they didn't even fit in the ring grooves! everyone wants to sell me their freakin' ChroMoly rings. I do NOT want ChroMoly rings! they won't even try to second-source them. they look in the book and say "nope". Dipwads! oops! didn't mean to go off. I have all CARB approved parts except for the N2O kit which i will remove before taking it to the smog-nazis. ------------------ Rob Wegner 90LX |

I've had the car for about 2 years. Had one race!!! Got my doors blown off by a new Porsche. He pulled over and he seemed really happy until I told him I paid $1000 for my car and I should hope that he wins considering it was a new Porsche and I probably cost more than $40,000. (Imagine what I could build with half of that!) My 86 was totally stock with ~130k on it. Other than that.....nothing. Europeans don't really dig cars like we do.

Well, i live near Detroit and on the weekends, if you can't find a race, there's something seriously wrong. I mean everyone and their mom thinks they have a fast car out here and are willing to prove it on a whim. I'd say on the average weekend i'll pull in about 10-15 races depending on if i go out driving around looking for victims or if i go out late night to the beautiful streets of Detroit and find where everyone is that night. So, basically, if you're like me and love to street race Detroit is the place to be.

My daily driver right now is a 99' 3/4 ton Dodge w\ the Cummins diesel. So, as you can see, I dont get in too many races.

My daily driver is a '97 F-350 Power Stroke 4x4. I will drive my car alot now that I have my A/C (in the summer). But amazingly enough I still get people trying to race my truck. Everybody thinks because it has a turbo it is a rocket-ship. These people are obviously ricers, though.
