Question '98 Z28 LS1

My friend's dad has a '98 Camaro Z28 T-tops with the LS1 engine and manual tranny. It is 100% stock, he's not into racing at all so I don't know how good he can drive. He has seen my car a few times around and really likes and he wants to see if he can beat me. He is a really big guy, about 300-325 lbs.

I think he's going to beat me. I don't know exactly what my car runs but I don't think it can take an LS1, maybe an LT1. I've never raced either. What do you guys think? Any advice if I do end up racing him?
